Swyx has now been developing communication solutions for medium-sized companies for 20 years. From a start-up with the innovative idea of replacing the traditional telephone system with an IP software solution, Swyx has grown into a successful company with more than 160 employees.

When Swyx was founded in Dortmund in 1999, the ISDN boom had just reached its peak. No one was interested in IP telephony at the time - with the exception of the Swyx founders, who were sure that Voice over IP was the future. With this conviction, innovative spirit and dedication, they launched the first version of Swyx's software-based IP communications solution in the summer of 2000. In addition to its high flexibility, from the outset the solution was characterised by the fact that it allowed companies to increase their accessibility and efficiency. These benefits enabled Swyx to convince its first trading partners and customers to put its product on the road to success.

Swyx concentrates on medium-sized companies and has always geared its solutions to the requirements of this market. The specialist trade channel has also played a central role from the very beginning: Customers can obtain the communication solutions of the Dortmund provider exclusively from authorised resellers. Since 2006, Swyx's award-winning partner program has created optimal conditions for cooperation with the specialist trade and offers its channel partners comprehensive training as well as sales and marketing support. Another important milestone in the young company's history was the start of a partnership with the German telecommunications provider Deutsche Telekom, which has been marketing Swyx solutions since 2003.

From the beginning, Swyx was also one of the pioneers in the field of cloud communications. In 2007, the company made it possible for its partners to offer its solution as a service from their data centre with a first "hosted" variant, so that customers could obtain Swyx from the cloud.

With more than one million users, Swyx is today the leading provider of IP communications solutions for the German midmarket - and a permanent fixture in the Telecomms/UC market. "We owe our particular success to the many dedicated people behind Swyx. Swyx celebrated its 20th anniversary last week with a big summer party for its employees and their families at the company's headquarters in Dortmund. Swyx partners and interested resellers are invited to celebrate the anniversary of the unified communications provider at this year's Partner and Technology Conference. The event on 26 September 2019 at the Colosseum Theater Essen offers the ideal opportunity to look back on joint successes and to lay the foundation for many more years of profitable cooperation. Visitors can look forward to a varied programme on the topics of IP communications and unified communications with valuable inputs for their daily business as well as insights into technology trends, product news and the Swyx strategy. There will also be plenty of time to exchange ideas with other resellers, the Swyx team and management.
