GROUP7 Posted April 9, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2015 Hello @all, we have a virtual machine (Server 2012 R2, patched regularly) with NetPhone 2015 R2. The server runs normally but all of a sudden it crashes with a bluescreen (no specific time or date). After such a crash the server runs normally for days, even for weeks, but sometimes it also crashes the next day or after two days. We are not able to reproduce the crash. The memory dump talks about an error with "pacer.sys", we have not found anything on Google helping here. The server also crashed before with NetPhone 2013 R5 and former versions. We have already installed the server from scratch but the error persists. Any idea on this? We have System Center Endpoint Protection 2012 R2 running on the server (is there a list of exclusions that should be defined?) Best regardsBen
Most Valued User WilcoSteenbergen Posted April 9, 2015 Most Valued User #2 Share Posted April 9, 2015 Is there anything in the event logs of your server? QOS disabled on the network stack both virtual and physical installation? Some details about memory usage and cpu usage available from right before the crash... More details perhaps? To be honest you should contact your supplier, they can call in Swyx or Netphone support if necessery and of course they love to see more indepth Swyx logging. But for that they can advice/help you to get the right logging.
Most Valued User Virikas Posted April 13, 2015 Most Valued User #3 Share Posted April 13, 2015 pacer.sys belongs to Windows QoS scheduler service. BsoD regarding this file indicate a problem with your network drivers. You should look if there is a new version of your NIC driver available. GROUP7 Posted January 11, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted January 11, 2016 Problem solved - the server did not have sufficient CPU cores. The hint "NIC Drivers" is not applicable here as the server is a virtual machine with standard NIC drivers. Thanks anyway!
