Remove SIP Display info Field

Hi

 

Currently we support a Swyx system that connects to VOIP Unlimited.

We have noticed since we started using a VOIP line that the extension name is sent in the Message Header.

They would like this removing so that just their external number is sent.

I have included the message header below.

 

From: "HR"<sip:ExternalNumber@sip.voip-unlimited.net>;tag=fc41c10a
SIP Display info: "HR"
SIP from address: sip:ExternalNumber@sip.voip-unlimited.net
SIP from address User Part: ExternalNumber
SIP from address Host Part: sip.voip-unlimited.net

that can be easily configured.

 

Take a look into the following Swyx Knowledgebase article:

It explains how to make modifications to the provider profile in order to adapt to any provider with any "special configuration demands".

 

You will find a config item "UseDisplayInfo". Just set it to "false".

I have tried this.

In the Trunk Properties > SIP Registration the SIP Provider is SIP (Customized)

The closest I could find in the ProviderProfiles.Config was below.

I have amended the line to include UseDisplayInfo="false" and changed EnableUsernameField from true to false.

Restarted link manager service and this did not make a difference.

I'd like to restart this thread; I'm in the same position: Vodafone sends caller's number as SIP Display info.

 

In the description for creating CustomProviderConfig-File (see link from Tom above) the item "UseDisplayInfo"  seems to be for OUTGOING calls:

UseDisplayInfo - defines whether the URI in the From header of outgoing calls has to contain a display field. The display field contains the alphanumeric user name, i.e. "John Miller"

 

Will it also work for incoming calls?
